Special Education Needs

We can offer expertise on the system for obtaining help for children with special needs. We can give practical guidance and assistance on working and negotiating with various parties, including the local authority. We have successfully helped in challenging the proposed contents of Statements of Special Needs by negotiation and have also represented parents through the tribunal service when this has not been possible.

We have represented a number of clients through the tribunal system when it has become necessary to challenge the provision offered by the local authority. This would include decisions not to produce a statement for a child, not to cover all the child’s needs or provide adequate provision to meet the needs, naming a school alternative to the one requested by the parents and failing to name a school at all within the statement.
