Family Law, Child Abduction, Education Law
I completed a Law Degree at De Montfort University, Leicester. I then moved to West Yorkshire and initially worked at a Citizens Advice Bureau before joining a law firm in Bradford. Since qualification I have been appointed a member of the Law Society's 'Family Law Panel' and 'Family Law (Advanced) Panel'. I am also accredited by the Law Society as a specialist advisor in Child Abduction work and receive referrals through the Lord Chancellors Child Abduction Panel.
I joined Williscroft & Co in 2004 and am now a partner at the firm. I undertake all types of family work although I have a particular interest in acting in cases of international child abduction, domestic violence, and complex matrimonial proceedings. I work well under pressure and I enjoy a challenge.
I also provide advice on legal matters concerning their children's education. This includes advice on admission appeals, complaints against schools, exclusions, and special educational needs.
I have experience of cases at all levels, i.e. at education tribunals, the local Magistrates Courts, County Court, High Court, and at the Court of Appeal.
I provide training to the voluntary sector on recent developments in the law and provide legal support for their clients where required. I am a member of the Bradford Violence Against Women Forum and understand the importance of agencies working together to increase the protection and support available to victims of domestic violence.
