Family Law
I commenced my career as a solicitor when Williscroft & Co was established in 1987. I have always specialised in family law. I became Managing Partner of the firm in February 2008.
In addition to my management responsibilities, I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist in financial and children cases. For 15 years I was also a member of the Law Society's Mental Health Review Tribunal panel and their Children Panel.
If you need advice regarding the financial aspects of a family relationship I can advise you about :-
My experience includes cases involving pensions, family businesses or bankruptcy.
Increasingly I am advising clients about inheritance claims when a partner, spouse or parent dies without making reasonable provision for a dependent person in his or her will. This is a specialist area where accurate advice at the right time is important.
When resolving issues regarding the arrangements for children, my preferred aim is to try to restore communications and use mediation or negotiated solutions before resorting to court proceedings.
I find that the background I have in mental health law is a valuable resource when acting for clients who suffer from poor psychiatric health or lack mental capacity to manage their own affairs.
I normally work 9.30-5pm Tuesday to Friday but I am usually able make appointments, telephone calls and send e-mails outside my normal working hours if required.
