We assist tenants to take action against landlords to ensure their homes are maintained in a proper state of repair. We can also advise on making associated claims for compensation.
We are able to advice tenants on the correct legal procedure that landlords must take before they evict a tenant. The advice is dependent upon the type of tenancy agreement they have. We can help to prevent eviction in the first instance but, if this has already taken place, we can assist a client to issue court proceedings to enable them to return home and obtain compensation. Where tenants do not wish to return home, we can assist them to retrieve their personal possessions.
We advise tenants on what conduct and behaviour of their landlord would constitute harassment. In certain circumstances we can assist a client to apply to court for an injunction or start other appropriate causes of action.
